Frequently asked questions
How deep are the bowls?
Deep enough to hold a generous amount of birdseed on top and about an inch of water on the bottom — plenty for small to medium birds to eat and splash comfortably.
Will this hold up through winter and heavy rain?
Yes. The plastic is UV-resistant and weather-rated for year-round outdoor use. The metal chains are coated to resist rust. Many customers leave theirs out in all four seasons.
What's the best spot to hang it?
A partially shaded area near trees or shrubs works best. Birds feel safer with nearby cover. Hang it at least 5 feet off the ground and away from spots where cats can reach.
Can I use it with just seed or just water?
Absolutely. You can use both tiers for seed, both for water, or one of each. It works however you set it up.
How to use
- Step 1: Unpack and untangle the metal chains. Attach the hook to your chosen hanging point — branch, hook, or beam.
- Step 2: Fill the top bowl with birdseed and the bottom bowl with fresh water (or configure both however you like).
- Step 3: Hang and enjoy. Birds typically discover a new feeder within 2–7 days. For faster results, place it near existing bird activity.
