It runs best in direct sunlight. On lightly overcast days the cascade may slow but still flow; in heavy clouds the pump pauses and picks back up once the sun returns.

Where should I hang it for the best results?
A spot with several hours of direct sun and a clear view from a window works best. A shepherd's hook, sturdy tree branch, or patio beam all work well.
